| SCCM 2012 report builder error Posted: 04 Aug 2012 10:59 PM PDT When trying to create a report in SCCM 2012 that uses Microsoft SQL server 2008 R2 you get the following error "Report Builder 2.0 is not installed as a click one application on report server …" Solution: Since you have installed SQL Server 2008 R2, which ships with Report Builder 3.0, you can indeed use Report Builder 3.0, just open it directly from SSRS Report Manager. While not supported or endorsed by Microsoft, a workaround is available to integrate RB 3.0 from the console, as follows: You'll need to set a registry key to name the RB 3.0 application manifest. The key in question is "HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\ConfigMgr10\AdminUI\Reporting\ReportBuilderApplicationManifestName". Change its value from "ReportBuilder_2_0_0_0.application" to "ReportBuilder_3_0_0_0.application" on any machine from which you want to launch RB 3.0.  |
| SCCM - Different data in Resource Explorer and Add/Remore Programs while running report Posted: 04 Aug 2012 01:08 PM PDT Recently my colleague tried to make a report with workstations that have particular version of software – Adobe Reader. But he meet a problem because in report with Adobe Reader 9, he had workstations that definatelly had version 10, the same with version 8 – there was completely mess, as he was checking the Add/Remove Programs on the workstation it appeared it has some other version. I found it indeed very weird,and tried to solve. By making directly queries on the database I noticed that indeed v_Add_Remove_Programs (name in SCCM report ->SMS_G_System_Add_Remove_Programs) shows old stuff – 9 version of Adobe Reader, but the database view v_SoftwareProducts (name in SCCM report -> SMS_G_System_SoftwareProducts) shows correct data – version there was 10. That was even double weird for me  but after some time with google I have finally found the explanation. The "Add/Remove Programs" stuff in updated by… "Hardware Inventory" client task, while "Software Products" as you can figure it out from it's name – by "Software Inventory task". My hardware inventory period was set to one week, while software for 1 day. Lost for this almoust two days…  |

| Windows XP to Windows 7 Migration occurring on August 13th. Posted: 03 Aug 2012 08:18 AM PDT J4 Technology Group is performing an enterprise migration of 220 users from Windows XP to Windows 7. Through SCCM – system center configuration manager, we can manage the packages, hotfix, windows updates, and script the automated migration.
