ConfigMgr 2012 VHD

Posted: 15 Jan 2013 07:30 PM PST

Much like you had in the days of 2007, Microsoft has released a VHD of the SP1 of 2012.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36428

This means that you don't need to be a SQL or AD expert to create your own lab to do basic tests.  You can use this VHD for testing or even show other people how SP1 works on a very small scale.

System Center 2012 SP1 is Generally Available!

Posted: 15 Jan 2013 09:17 AM PST

This morning we announced the general availability of System Center 2012 SP1!  While the RTM bits have been available for a few weeks already to TechNet/MSDN subscribers and volume licensing customers, today marks the broad availability of System Center 2012 SP1 to all customers.

The System Center 2012 SP1 release is chock full of new features to light up the new functionality found in Windows Server 2012.  The combination of System Center 2012 SP1 with Windows Server 2012 provides the foundation of what we call the 'Cloud OS'.  You can read more about the Cloud OS and how System Center fits into the solution in these other articles:

The System Center Service Pack 1 setups for each component can be used to install a completely new installation of a System Center 2012 SP1 component or can be used to upgrade an existing component from System Center 2012 to System Center 2012 SP1.  More information on the upgrade procedure can be found here:
