Windows Server 2012 R2: Server Core Installation Posted: 24 Jun 2013 12:25 AM PDT Windows Server 2012 R2 Core Preview installs quite fast and we still have SCONFIG to help us setup: Set Name Set IP and DNS Enable Remote Management Then join the server to the domain: If you haven't changed the server name, then you have the change now. I already have the correct name for my server core, so I just hit "No" and then restart the server. With that set, you are ready to administer the core server remote from Server Manager. In Server Manager go to "All Servers", right click and choose "Add Servers". Search Active Directory for the name and select the server running Windows Server 2012 R2 Core. The server is successfully added to Server Manager and is ready for Remote Management. |
